When was the last time you evaluated your brand? Listen as I discussed the branding quiz! This quiz is designed to help you think through 14 different areas of your brand, ranging from your name and domain to your file storage strategy!
Do you know how healthy your brand is? If you don’t know how healthy your brand is, what it looks like, or how others view your brand, there’s a good chance you don’t have a solid temperature on how healthy your brand is.
Your brand can be defined as the consumer’s perception of your brand’s consistent quality. Take a step back and let’s think through why the consumer gets to define your brand. Think of the last time you were doing business with a company and you realized that they had a high level of excellence, paid extra attention to detail to make sure you were taken care of your experience with them was above and beyond. You can probably remember a time where your experience with a business was below your expectations, it was clean, you may have been treated poorly, there were multiple logos everywhere, different colors, and the overall experience wasn’t refined and smooth. That’s what I mean when I talk about the consumer’s perception.
We can do everything right, but if we don’t deliver a customer service experience, the best brand won’t be enough. Your brand is not simply your print materials or physical stuff, it’s not just the logo and colors that people see. Your brand includes the experience customers have with you, the bells and whistles that you add, the emails that you send, and the late hours you spend making sure people feel taken care of. It’s the “over-deliver” mindset that you work so hard to put into your business.
So what does branding have to do with all of this?
- It defines your business –
- It creates uniqueness – shows your mission and how you’re different
- Tells a story – communicates who you are
- It sets expectations for the customer
- It builds a reputation and an image
Keep these in mind today.
Whether they like it or not, every single business has a brand. The question is – is your brand growing? Or is your brand dying?
A growing brand is a brand where you can sense the excitement. It’s where you can see the owner and staff are passionate which results in movement and growth. These brands are putting content out there, excited about what they are doing, and talking about what they are doing. Whether you make wreaths or own a carwash or anything in between, you can sense when people take the time to make sure the experience is exceptional.
A dying brand is just as easy to recognize. Everyone’s sad when you go in, when clients shop it’s dirty, there’s negative reviews, slow service, and an overall unhappy experience. No one talks about this brand to share it with others. It’s the one customers tell their friends to avoid.
So which side do you want to be on?
The side where clients aren’t even sure if you’re open, or the side where everyone knows your business is alive because they’re talking about it, engaging with their audience, and just showing up.
The key phrase so far has been consistency. Think about your brand, is it consistent, and what does that mean for my brand?

It all starts with us, if you’re not passionate about what your brand looks like if you think it’s below par, if you don’t think this is what the consumer should see, you won’t tell people about it.
